A. Purpose
This Code of Conduct defines the standards of conduct to be maintained by members of the Board of Directors of Bricks by the Bay, Inc., volunteers, and Convention attendees. This Code of Conduct shall apply to all conduct before, during, and after the annual Bricks by the Bay Convention by any Board member, volunteer, or Convention attendee in connection with any Convention related activities.
B. General Rule of Conduct
You shall conduct yourself in a manner to be a credit to the Bricks by the Bay, Inc. organization, its Board of Directors, and the many volunteers that contribute to the annual Convention. You will bear in mind the interests and concerns of persons active in the LEGO fan community and the Convention going public, as well as third parties such as vendors and hotel staff.
C. Rules Concerning Board and Volunteer Conduct
C.1. Your conduct toward members of the Board of Directors, volunteers, Convention attendees, public visitors to the Convention, and other third parties (“Participants”) shall be professional and courteous in all respects. You should use discretion and good judgment in the performance of all duties and in your interactions with all Participants.
C.2. Members of the Board of Directors and volunteers shall respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
C.3. Be careful in the words that you choose. Do not insult or put down other Participants. Harassment and other exclusionary behavior are not acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to:
(3.a) Violent threats or language directed against another person.
(3.b) Discriminatory jokes and language.
(3.c) Personal insults, especially those relating to race, color, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or physical or mental disability.
(3.d) Unwelcome sexual attention.
(3.e) Repeated harassment of others. In general, if someone asks you to stop, then stop.
C.4. Members of the Board of Directors and volunteers shall not discriminate on the basis of any Participant’s race, color, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or physical or mental disability.
C.5. No personal reward, gift, or other form of remuneration shall be accepted by any member of the Board of Directors or volunteer from any vendor, contractor, individual, firm, or any other source having or proposed to have any relationship with Bricks by the Bay, Inc. in connection with the performance of his or her duties related to the Convention. The foregoing shall not prohibit the receipt of prizes by random drawing or the receipt of any other prizes awarded during the Convention.
C.6. No member of the Board of Directors or volunteer shall presume to speak for or on behalf of Bricks by the Bay, Inc. without the express prior approval of the Board of Directors or the Board President.
D. Rules Concerning Convention Attendee Conduct
D.1. Convention attendees shall respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.

D.3. The following general statement regarding this Code of Conduct and anti-harassment policy shall be circulated to and made available to Convention attendees and shall be made available online at bricksbythebay.wpengine.com.
(3.a) Bricks by the Bay, Inc. is dedicated to providing a harassment-free Convention experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of Convention attendees or others in any form. Convention attendees violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the Convention without a refund at the discretion of the Convention organizers. D.4. Bricks by the Bay, Inc. reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the badge of any Convention attendee not in compliance with this Code of Conduct.
E. Violations
E.1. Participants who become aware of any suspected violation of this Code of Conduct should report the matter to a member of the Board of Directors or you can email us with complaints, concerns, and suggestions at admin@bricksbythebay.net so that we may improve the convention experience.. All reports received will be reviewed and handled in an expeditious manner. If the reported violation involves a member of the Board of Directors, the matter should be reported to another member of the Board of Directors. Any perceived imminent threat to security or personal safety should be reported immediately to a member of security or the appropriate authorities.
E.2. The Board of Directors has designated a committee to monitor and review any reported violations of this Code of Conduct. The reviewing committee or its designee shall advise the reporting Participant that the report has been received and that the matter will be handled in an expeditious manner. A member of the Board of Directors receiving a reported violation of this Code of Conduct should record the information to the extent practical and reassure the reporting Participant that he or she is being taken seriously and the matter will be handled in an expeditious manner. The person taking the report should avoid making specific promises or representations about what actions will be taken and promptly pass along the report and any information to the reviewing committee or its designee. A person receiving or following up on a report shall ask for any other information if the reporting Participant has not volunteered it (such as time, place, or other details) but should not pressure the reporting Participant to provide such information if he or she is reluctant. Even if the report lacks important details such as the identity of the person violating this Code of Conduct, the matter should still be recorded and passed along to the reviewing committee or its designee.
E.3. Any member of the Board of Directors or other person receiving a reported violation of this Code of Conduct shall promptly report the matter to the reviewing committee or its designee. Subject to any further review and determination that may be initiated by the Board of Directors on its own or at the request of the reviewing committee or its designee, the reviewing committee, in its discretion, may impose any appropriate sanction or discipline, including, but not limited to:
(3.a) Revocation, without refund, of the badge of any Convention attendee not in compliance with this Code of Conduct.
(3.b) Reassignment of a Board member’s or volunteer’s duties.
(3.c) Loss of access or privileges in connection with Convention activities.
(3.d) Loss of privilege to attend future Conventions.
